Our Newest and Proven Innovations

The Sollami Company prides itself in continually offering new innovative products. For instance, we manufacture a Carbide Ring Quick Change Holder that works exceptionally well on highways for maintaining gage height throughout the drum for a much better cutting pattern. Another innovative product we offer comes standard on our milling cutter tools. It is the Anti-rotation Wear Washer, of which we are the first to manufacture and market this successful design concept.

We are again first to offer a very innovative concept which drastically prevents small particles from entering the milling bit shank/retainer bore area. Complete carbide tip consumption is much more likely with this design.

There are many more innovative products too numerous to mention. The point we are making, our products are developed to improve performance and productivity.

Most of our innovative designs are either patented or have patent pending status. Many of these patented products have United States and foreign patent protection.

 

Trenching Division

In 1993 the Sollami Company decided to expand its business from mining and started working on diversifying into the construction/trenching industry.

The Sollami Company saw a major problem with the existing bits being used on trenching machines. We decided to change the type of bits being used at that time. The first thing Sollami did was analyze the problem. After extensive research, we knew that our bit designs would change the whole concept of bits being used in the trenching industry.

The Sollami Company developed the pocket protector (large flange) for ease of bit removal from the pocket. This new concept extended the life of the pocket as less dirt and fines were able to get into the bore. Coupled with this design we incorporated several bit nose configurations of which some are patented.

Today, these concepts are used throughout the world, and are universally used by other bit manufacturers.  We are always striving to improve bit performance which leads to reduced operating cost for the contractor.
